Managing Director of the Australian Christian Lobby Martyn Iles says the World Health Organisation’s response to the novel coronavirus was “a litany of errors” from the very beginning.

According to Mr Iles WHO “would have known in December” that the virus was being transmitted between humans” and its decision to delay advice to enforce travel bans was due to concerns about creating a “stigma”.

“Instead of create stigma, the WHO lied, and people died,” he told Sky News host Chris Smith.

Mr IIles said by the time WHO advocated for nation states to close their borders the virus had spread around the world.

In the wake of heavy criticism from around the globe, World Health Organisation boss Tedros Adhanom has conceded he will “learn” from his organisation’s bungled response to COVID-19 after Donald Trump axed $400 million in US funding.
