Two new deaths associated with COVID-19 have been reported on the Treasure Coast, including the first in Indian River County.


An 88-year-old woman was the first coronavirus-related death in Indian River County, according to the morning advisory from the state Department of Health.


The second death announced this morning on the Treasure Coast was a 79-year-old woman from Martin County.


St. Lucie County continues to report the most cases, 144, followed by Martin County with 111 and Indian River County with 68.


Six people have died from COVID-19 in St. Lucie County, two people have died in Martin County, and one has died in Indian River County.


Those who died in St. Lucie County ranged in age from 31 to 95. The deaths include:


  • A 77-year-old man

  • A 95-year-old woman

  • A 59-year-old man

  • A 31-year-old woman

  • A 74-year-old man

  • An 82-year-old man

In Martin County, a 77-year-old man was the county’s first death connected to the coronavirus. 


The virus has hit Treasure Coast residents from ages 8 to 96.


An 8-year-old boy in Indian River County is the youngest on the Treasure Coast to be diagnosed with the virus.
