“We know that we can do it.”
That’s the bullish top-four verdict offered by Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Raul Jimenez.
Before the Premier League was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, Wolves were on the verge of breaking into the Champions League spots in just their second season back in the top flight.
With nine games to go, Wolves find themselves in 6th place – just two points behind Manchester United and a further three behind Chelsea, who currently occupy the final spot in the top-four.
The Premier League remain committed to finish the season, despite the strict social distancing guidelines still in place across the country.
And as and when the season does return, Jimenez is confident his team can finish the job and seal an historic return to the elite competition in Europe.
“It’s big for a team that was promoted [two years ago] and this is only our second season in the Premier League,” he told Sky Sports.
“We know that we can do it.
“We can fight for it and I don’t think we’re going to be disappointed if we don’t do it but now that we see that we can do it.
“It’s incredible to be part of this team, part of this family, we are all working hard to achieve our goal and I’m really enjoying playing with my team-mates.
“Every one of us adds his little piece to what we are doing. I was really enjoying the season, I know it’s not finished yet and we know that we have to keep fighting for the places that we want.”
