As scientists around the world hunt for a coronavirus cure, researchers at America’s University of California in Santa Barbara say ultra violet (UV) light could be harnessed to effectively disinfect personal protective equipment (PPE) from COVID-19.

UV light has been used to sterilise water and air and the researchers believe it will also kill coronavirus germs which would make it an ideal agent for disinfecting contaminated surfaces and equipment.
