OUR KIDS CAN WIN US TITLES
Frank Lampard believes his Chelsea kids can challenge for the Premier League title in the future.
And the likes of teen sensation Billy Gilmour will have a huge part to play in that push to dominate English football.
But the Blues boss admitted he would be a fool to say his team could topple Liverpool and Manchester City any time soon.
Lampard’s side sit fourth in the table — not bad considering it is the manager’s first season in charge and the club were under a transfeR embargo until January.
But Lampard said: “I don’t want to jump the gun because what Liverpool and Manchester City have done in the last two or three seasons is very clear.
“I think I would be a bit of a fool to make a claim we could bridge that gap very quickly.
“There has been a lot of hard work at those clubs in terms of recruitment of top players, of great coaches and of players working to improve themselves.
“Now we have good young players and experienced players who have helped them this year. With potentially bringing in some players in key areas we think could help us bridge that gap, I have a strong belief we can challenge for titles in the future.”

SUMMER TRANSFER BLOCK
Premier League players will be blocked from switching clubs before the delayed end of the season — even if they are out of contract.
And Fifa are considering a one-off, third transfer window next term because the summer trading spell will be so short.
The likes of Chelsea schemer Willian and Spurs defender Jan Vertonghen will nominally be free agents from July 1.
Fifa’s legal director Emilio Garcia Silvero admitted they cannot demand contracts that expire in June be extended.
But he revealed they will simply refuse to ratify any attempts to register with another club until the 2019-20 season has been either completed or officially closed.
That will avoid players moving for the conclusion of the campaign.
Garcia Silvero said: “Fifa cannot extend the contracts beyond June 30 but the transfer windows will not be the same and the players will not be able to be registered. It means the market will not open on July 1.
“And if a loan ends on June 30, the player should return to his club but the window would not be open and the return transfer would not be processed.”

LAMPS TIPS TWO TO JOIN GILMOUR
Frank Lampard has named two Chelsea kids who follow Billy Gilmour in making a huge breakthrough if and when the season.
Scotland midfielder Gilmour, 18, was a sensation in the weeks before the coronavirus pandemic halted football.
And Blues boss Lampard told Sky Sports News’ The Football Show: “We’ve had another couple of young players [emerge]. Tino Anjorin came on against Everton and played in the Carabao Cup earlier in the season, and Ian Maatsen played some minutes.
“I don’t want to leave out too many others because there are so many good young players that have the potential to come through.
He said: “One of the first things that we [the coaching team] tried to do at Chelsea was bring them in, and get an idea that if you train well enough in the academy you’re not forgotten. it will get flagged, and you will have an opportunity to train with us.
“Even the Masons [Mount] and the Tammys [Abraham] have played for their country as well, but they still all have so far to go, and it’s a huge plus for the club.
“They will be a huge part of how the club is moving forward, for sure.”

BARCA LEAD LAUTARO RACE
Chelsea could face losing out on Lautaro Martinez as the Inter Milan’ striker’s agent confirmed there is a “good chance” he will join Barcelona.
The Argentina star, 22, also linked with Manchester City and Real Madrid, has banged in 16 goals this term as one of the hottest transfer targets in Europe.
Martinez arrived at San Siro from Argentine outfit Racing Club in 2018 and has three years left on his contract, which includes a £97.5million buy-out clause.
Barcelona were linked with the Inter golden boy in the January transfer window.
But the LaLiga champions stopped short of triggering his release clause.

LAMPS HAILS CHELSEA’S RESPONSE
“Proud” Frank Lampard has hailed Chelsea’s response to the coronavirus pandemic.
The former Blues and England midfielder praised a host of swift deeds, including clubs bosses freeing up facilities for NHS workers and players financially helping hospitals.
Lamps told the club’s official website: “Early on in the crisis we made the Millennium Hotel available to NHS staff, many of whom are working long shifts at this unprecedented time and may not be able to travel home.
“The men’s squad also made a sizeable donation to the Chelsea Foundation in March to provide support to local hospitals.
“There have been online tutorials for young fans, a raising of awareness and funds for the domestic abuse charity Refuge, and also calls from Chelsea staff to elderly Blues supporters.
“I am very proud to be manager of this club with the way Chelsea have handled it.
“There are a lot of people at Chelsea who have really stood up and done a lot of good work.”
