Welcome to the Evening Standard’s LIVE coverage of the French Open.
We’ve reached the semi-final stages in Paris, and we have four mouth-watering contests line-up today at Roland Garros.
Play starts on 10am BST with the Women’s singles semi-finals, as Australian Ashleigh Bart takes on Amanda Anisimova – with the 17-year-old American having dumped Simona Halep out in straight sets yesterday.
That match is on Suzanne-Lenglen, while Britain’s Johanna Konta faces Marketa Vondrousova for a place in Sunday’s Final.
The Men’s singles action begins at 11.50am Philippe-Chatrier with Roger Federer against Rafael Nadal, with the second semi-final between Novak Djokovic and Dominic Thiem following straight after.
Who will come out on top today? Stay tuned to Standard Sport for all of the action…
Live Updates
Konta 5-7 4-3 Vondrousova
Vondrousova misses the chance to hold to love and soon regrets it as Konta lines up a juicy backhand down the line.
However, she gets the job done with a powerful serve and she continues to hang on in there.
Konta 5-7 4-2 Vondrousova
The 24th seed is doing what she needs to do now, having worked hard to secure the break early on.
She only needs to hold serve to win the second set from now on – and that’s exactly what she does, wrapping up the game with a confident forehand winner from the net.
SET!
It’s heading to a decider on Suzanne-Lenglen!
Barty exacts revenge on Anisimova, storming to six games in a row to take the second set 6-3.
That should be a cracking finale.
Konta 5-7 3-2 Vondrousova
The Czech doesn’t have to do too much to win this one as Konta’s aggression plays against her and she makes a few unnecessary errors.
It’s a game of fightbacks over on Suzanne-Lenglen.
Having trailed 3-0 in the second set, Ashleigh Barty is now 4-3 up against Amanda Anisimova in the second set.
Konta 5-7 3-1 Vondrousova
Momentum is such an odd concept, but it’s amazing to see how Konta has snatched back control of this match from Vondrousova’s grasp.
A fierce backhand right on the line hands her the initiative in this match and she has got her mojo back now.
BREAK OF SERVE
BREAK! Konta 5-7 2-1 Vondrousova
Two winners from Konta and she has two break points. Vondrousova blunders and she has the vital break.
How crucial was that?
Konta 5-7 1-1 Vondrousova
The British number one hasn’t had an easy game since the first game in the match and she’s made to work to hold.
After losing four games in a row, she finally gets one back. Now the hard work starts.
Konta 5-7 0-1 Vondrousova
No early break this time for Konta. The Czech is looking confident with every shot now and gets on the board in the second set.
SET!
Konta 5-7 Vondrousova
Every game has been hotly-contested here and it’s Konta who fails to take advantage after Vondrousova is left scurrying around the court.
A flurry of unforced errors and it’s set point for Vondrousova. Konta is left in two minds whether to go for the volley after a deep shot. She leaves it – and it bounces in!
Only she will know how she has lost that, having had two set points at 5-3 up.
Konta 5-6 Vondrousova
Three games in a row for Vondrousova and she’s returning for the first set.
A big test for Konta now, who needs to regroup. It feels like she has only dropped points when she’s overcomplicated things.
SET!
What a talent this 17-year-old is.
Amanda Anisimova has won the first set – a scenario that seemed impossible when she was 5-0 down – after edging the tiebreak against Ashleigh Barty.
She’s just a set away from becoming the youngest woman to reach the final since Monica Seles in 1990.
BREAK OF SERVE
BREAK! Konta 5-5 Vondrousova
It felt like the wrong move for Konta to go to the net and so it proves, as Vondrousova calmly sends a backhand down the line to go 15-30 up.
Konta bites back with a winner down the line but fails to back it up, and hands a break point on a silver platter to Vondrousova.
She finally breaks back after another strange choice of tactic from Konta leaves the court wide open. Will she will rue missing that chance at set point?
It’s gone to a tiebreak on Suzanne-Lenglen after a tremendous fightback from Anisimova and it’s locked at 4-4.
Who will draw first blood?
Konta 5-4 Vondrousova
Two set points arrive for Konta and she’s presented with a golden opportunity to get the job done at the net. But she overeggs it and sends the volley out!
Vondrousova survives after the 24th seed fires into the net, but hands a third set point with a rather careless double fault.
But more errors from Konta allows her opponent to hold on…for now. She’s serving for the set.
Konta 5-3 Vondrousova
Pivotal moment in the set at 30-30 and Konta steps up to the plate, thundering a forehand into the corner. Vondrousova isn’t the most mobile and she can’t get there.
Konta then fires an ace which Vondrousova claims was out. A quick check from the umpire confirms it touched the line and she’s just a game away from securing the first set now.
Konta 4-3 Vondrousova
The Czech is staying hot on Konta’s heels with a love service game. She’s determined to keep her record of not losing a set intact.
Konta 4-2 Vondrousova
Playing against a left-handed player can always be tricky and when Konta sends Vondrousova into the corner, she must be surprised to see a flick of the racket in the style of Rafael Nadal, sending a forehand down the line.
But Konta keeps her cool at 40-30, forcing Vondrousova into the error and takes a commanding lead in this first set.
Incredible from Anisimova.
She’s fought back from 5-0 down and has cancelled out Barty’s double break! The American can make it 5-5 if she holds serve now.
BREAK OF SERVE
BREAK! Konta 3-2 Vondrousova
If she gained any momentum from the break, Vondrousova has quickly lost it.
She faces two break points and Konta wins back her advantage immediately with a fine winner off the forehand.
