Manchester United are weighing up a move for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Sebastien Haller should Romelu Lukaku leave the club this summer, reports say.

Lukaku is a transfer target for Inter and their new manager Antonio Conte, but United will only sell if the Italian side meet their £80million asking price.

Should Lukaku leave, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will move for a new striker and has identified Haller as a potential option, ESPN claim.

The 24-year-old has been superb upfront for Eintracht Frankfurt alongside the now departed Luka Jovic – who joined Real Madrid this week.

Haller scored 20 goals last season and chipped in with a further 12 assists, as he proved an excellent partner for Jovic, but is virtually unknown in England.

United have scouted Haller in recent months during Eintracht Frankfurt’s Europa League run, but are yet to formalise their interest in the frontman.

The Red Devils will only firm up their interest in Haller if Inter sign Lukaku, but will face competition from rival clubs for his signature.

Solskjaer is demanding a big summer of signings and departures at United and is closing in on his first deal.

Swansea’s Daniel James is poised to join the Red Devils after United were forced to up their efforts due to the sudden interest of French side Monaco.

Solskjaer is determined to bring a number of talented British players to United this summer, and reportedly has a spending budget of £200m.

United have been linked with Leicester City midfielder James Maddison in the last week, as well as Newcastle’s Sean Longstaff and Crystal Palace’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
