However, did you know that the winner of the Europa League will also be rewarded with a top seeding when the group stages are drawn?

The Gunners will be placed in Pot 1 if they win the Europa League, alongside the likes of Juventus, Barcelona, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain. They will also hope that Bayern Munich wrap up the German league title so they can be avoided – past results aren’t worth looking back on.

Chelsea who may have lacked a touch of motivation having secured top level European competition will also be promoted to a top seed if they win the competition, they wouldn’t be if they just went via their third place finish in the Premier League.

Being placed in Pot 1 will certainly bolster the Gunners prospects of navigating through the group stages and as such may give the club an even better ‘appeal’ in the transfer market this summer.

Arsenal winning the Europa League would also impact rivals Spurs should they fail to beat Liverpool in the Champions League final. A Gunners victory would demote their north London rivals to Pot 3 – however both rivals winning would see each get a Pot 1 place.
