Roofe nets winner as Leeds hold first leg advantage over Derby

Leeds United will take the advantage back to Elland Road as they beat Derby County 1-0 in the first leg of their play-off encounter.

After a cagey first half which didn’t muster a single shot on target from either side, it was Marcelo Bielsa’s side who took the lead as Kemar Roofe received a peach of a ball from Jack Harrison and slotted past Kelle Roos.

There was a moment of controversy in the closing stages though as Omar Bogle was brought down and although a penalty was initially given, referee Craig Pawson consulted linesman Eddie Smart before overturning the decision.
