The Borussia Dortmund ace would be a useful addition for Liverpool.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will be looking to fine-tune his squad this summer, regardless of whether they win the Champions League or not.
One area where the German might want to strengthen is his attacking department, with Goal reporting that Xherdan Shaqiri could be sold this summer.
And with this in mind, Liverpool should consider a move for Borussia Dortmund ace Mario Gotze, who could be available for transfer this summer, according to German publication Bild.
Klopp managed the 63-capped Germany international, 26, during his time in charge at Dortmund, so he knows all about the diminutive forward.
Gotze, who can play anywhere along the front-line, enjoyed a decent campaign with Dortmund this season, racking up seven goals and seven assists in 26 Bundesliga appearances, and he would be a useful addition for the Reds.
He possesses impeccable technical ability, and he would add a certain amount of creativity and guile to Liverpool’s attacking play.
Quite how much Dortmund will expect for Gotze is unclear, but the Merseyside outfit should test their resolve nonetheless.
The 2014 World Cup winner would help ease the burden on the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, and he still has plenty to give at the very highest level.
Gotze also has a lot still to prove, so he would be hungry to be a success at Liverpool, and Klopp must do all he can to bring him to Anfield this summer.
