According to the Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink, some of his Chelsea stars have begun to take it easy as their attention turns to the upcoming Euro 2016.
Sergio Aguero took his EPL goal tally to 21 with a clinical hat-trick, continuing his rich vein of scoring form – 13 goals in the last 12 appearances.
Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was later shown a red card for his foul on Fernandinho that led to a penalty award which was firmly tucked away by Aguero to complete his hat-trick, sending Bergovic the wrong way.
It was a welcomed revenge for the visitors boss Manuel Pellegrini for the 5-1 defeat in the FA Cup in which he fielded a much weakened side. The Stamford Bridge outfit’s chance of European football next season is now seriously in doubt.

And Hiddink believes that some of the Chelsea players have begun preserving themselves for the Euros in France: “Partly true, but I cannot blame the players for having a lack of attitude. Some players might think that, but I cannot look into their minds, in their brains. They might be thinking of the Euros.”
The Dutchman said added: “When there is nothing at stake then with some people there is a little bit of a lack of the ultimate work.”
Meanwhile, after weeks of speculation, Chelsea have finally announced the appointment of Antonio Conte as first team head coach.
The club announced that the former Juventus coach signed a three-year contract and will begin work in London after leading Italy in this summer’s Euro 2016 tournament. The former Italian league title winning coach expressed his happiness at his appointment.
The 46-year-old Italian said: “I am very excited about the prospect of working at Chelsea Football Club. I am proud to be the coach of the national team of my country and only a role as attractive as manager of Chelsea could follow that.”
