The Court of Appeal will for the first time in more than three decades sit in Awka for a week beginning from Monday.
Anali Chude, Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Anambra, confirmed this in an interview with NAN in Awka on Sunday.
He said the court session would involve six judges who would hold two sittings simultaneously.
Anali said that the Court of Appeal would hold hearings on 75 appeals from the state.
“Previously the Court of Appeal in Enugu was handling all appeals.
“This could be a test run for the court which could want to set up a permanent Court of Appeal in Awka.
“We gathered that about 80 per cent of the cases on appeal within the division emanate from Anambra,” he said.
