Kano Pillars Football Club on Sunday humiliated visiting Shooting Stars (3SC) FC of Ibadan 6-0 in a week 13 game of the ongoing 2015/2016 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).


NAN reports that the match was played at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.


Kano Pillars midfielder Ifeanyi Mathew opened scoring in the 11th minute, while Emmanuel Edmund doubled lead for the home side in the 37th minute.


A new signing for the Pillars, Edmund, made it a hat-trick for himself by scoring also in the 59th and 83rd minutes of the entertaining encounter.


Adamu Muhammad and Nafiu Ibrahim came off the bench to score in added time to make it 6-0.


Several efforts by the visitors to score a goal proved abortive as the home side defended tenaciously to win the game’s maximum points.


In a post-match interview, the Chief Coach of Kano Pillars, Baba Ganaru, expressed satisfaction with his players’ performance, particularly in the second half of the encounter.


Ganaru, however, admitted that his boys were lucky to win with six goals against a good team with an experienced coach.


“My boys played to instructions and we got our maximum points,” he said.


The coach also commended Edmund, who just joined from Nasarawa United FC, for scoring three goals.


On his part, coach Kadiri Ikhana of 3SC said his team lost to a better side, and commended Kano Pillars for a good match.


Ikhana also expressed satisfaction with the officiating of the match.
