Kenneth Kobani was arrested by soldiers during the rerun polls
The Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Kenneth Kobani, who was arrested by the army for allegedly disrupting the smooth conduct of the national and state assembly elections has regained his freedom.
Kobani confirmed his freedom to journalists in Port Harcourt.
However a former caretaker committee chairman who also doubled as a party agent has lashed at those criticizing the arrest of the SSG, noting that, are not honest.
He said the SSG was arrested for trying to disrupt the conduct of the election. “There are certain questions we should ask. Where was Kenneth Kobani when he was arrested? What led to his arrest and what happened after he was arrested?”
“As the Gokana LGA agent, I saw it all. Kenneth Kobani who had no business at the INEC office invaded the place. INEC materials, INEC officials were abducted in Bodo his hometown.”
Kobani, a lawyer, was the Commissioner for Finance under former governor, Peter Odili for eight years.
He is also the son of one of Ogoni heroes who led an uprising against Shell and the military.
