Exclusive: Club threatens to pull out of the premiership

– El-Kanemi warriors want to go and play at home Maiduguri instead of Katsina

– The club threaten to pull out

– LMC said they can pull out if they like

The management of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, El-kanemi Warriors have threatened to pull out of the Nigeria’s top flight football unless their request is being granted by the League Management Company (LMC).

The Warriors from Maiduguri exclusively revealed to Naij.com Sports that they are tired and frustrated of playing their home games at the Karkanda Stadium in Katsina.

Media manager of the club, Anthony Obaseki disclosed that his club have complained and submitted a request letter to the League Management Company (LMC) since the fourth of this month stressing that the LMC has refused to acknowledge their request.

Obaseki added that their adopted home in Katsina is no longer favourable for El-kanemi Warriors considering the financial status of the club this term in the NPFL.

“We can’t continue to play our home games in Katsina, and we have made our stand known to the LMC, but they are yet to say a word to our request.

“We are no longer comfortable in Katsina as we are spending a lot of money executing our games, and the games are to be played in Maiduguri which is our real home, we won’t be spending in excess.

“The people at the helm of the Stadium in Katsina are collecting more than hundred thousand from us for each game, and we can’t continue with this when we have our own stadium.

“There is no problem again in Maiduguri as everything is going on smoothly, and we want to go back to our home otherwise we would pull out of the League.

If we did not hear any information from the LMC after our weekend game at MFM FC in Lagos, we won’t play our next home game in Katsina,” Obaseki said to Naij.com Sports.

Meanwhile, it would be recalled that the League Management Company (LMC) last season advised El-Kanemi Warriors to move out of Maiduguri due to the unrest going on in the city in which many lives have been lost.

This season in the NPFL, El-Kanemi Warriors have played two games in Katsina, their first match of the season was a 0-1 loss to Wikki Tourists before beating reigning champions, Enyimba 2-0 last weekend.

The League Management Company (LMC) Boss, Shehu Dikko said that El-Kanemi Warriors chose Katsina themselves adding that they were not force to play their home games there:

“They chose katsina themselves as alternative venue since it’s still not convenient to play in Maiduguri, so if they don’t want to play in katsina it’s their choice and likewise playing in the league itself,” Shehu Dikko exclusively said to Naij.com Sports.
