Nigeria crash out of CHAN 2016

Super Eagles, Nigeria vs Guinea

Nigeria’s hope of qualifying for the next round at the ongoing African Nations Cup was dashed after the Super Eagles suffered a 0-1 loss to Guinea at the Rubavu Stadium in their third group match.

A 44th minute goal from Ibrahim Sory Sankhon sent Coach Sunday Oliseh led Eagles out of the competition they were favourites to win by football pundits.

Super Eagles led the group before the match with four points and only needed a draw to qualify for quarter final but somehow they could not stop the Guineans from running away with the lone goal and securing three points to make five points at the end of

the first round of the championship.

Guinea now second the group with Tunisia, who hammered Niger 5-0 at Kigali Stadium to top the group with five with superior goal margin.
