Nigeria’s home-based Super Eagles were eliminated by Guinea in the ongoing Rwanda 2016 African Nations Championship (CHAN) as they were beaten

0-1 by the Guineans in the last group C match played at the Rubavu Stadium Tuesday evening.

A 44th minute goal from Ibrahim Sory Sankhon sent Coach Sunday Oliseh-led Eagles out of the competition they had been favoured to win by

football pundits.

The Eagles, who were earlier before the match leading the group with four points needed a draw to scale the hurdle to the quarter final,

but could not stop the Guineans from running away with the lone goal victory and securing three points to make five points at the end of

the first round of the championship.

Guinea are now second in the group with Tunisia, who hammered Niger 5-0 to top the group with five points with superior goal margin.

Nigeria are third on four points and Niger finished bottom with a point.
