Samson Siasia, the head coach of the Nigeria U-23 football team, has described his sides’ 2 – 2 draw to the Young Pharaohs of Egypt as worrisome, saying his boys were tired.
Nigeria conceded two quick goals to allow the North Africans share the spoils in their second group game.

Oghenekaro Etebo had put Nigeria two goals up from the penalty spot in the first half, but Egypt returned in the second half firing from all cylinders.
It took the Young Pharaohs just sixty seconds into the second half to pull one back before Chizoba turned Karim’s low-cross into the net to put the score at 2 – 2. From then on, the Egyptians took charge of ‘proceedings’ as they continued to navigate in and around the Nigerian defence.
Speaking after the game, Siasia posited that his players lost concentration due to fatigue.
“I think we get tired in the second halves of games; and that’s what it’s not supposed to be. If you are tired, you make a lot of mistakes.
“You don’t concentrate anymore (when you are tired) and we need to fix it.
“Two games (against Mali and Egypt) the same thing. We almost lost the first game against Mali.
“We need to see how we can fix that problem because if it continues like this it’s not going to be funny. If it continues, I don’t think we will go to the Olympics.”
The Dream Team VI will now face Algeria in a must win encounter on Saturday, December 5.
