Nigerians in South Africa mourn Keshi’s wife

Some Nigerians residing in South Africa on Friday expressed shock and disbelief over the death of Kate wife of former Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi.


Mr Nduka Daniel, the President, South- South Association in South Africa, told NAN in Pretoria that members of the association received the news with great shock.


“It’s most unfortunate that this has happened. We sympathise with Keshi and share the pains with him.


“Keshi made the nation proud and Nigerians rejoiced with him; it is equally important that we share with him at this moment of grief,” he said.


Daniel said that Keshi laid a good foundation for the nation`s football and it was important for Nigerians to identify with him.


Mr Kennedy Osagie, Chairman, Nigeria Union in Northern Cape Province of South Africa, said that the death of Keshi`s wife was painful.


“Nigerians in Northern Cape Province received this sad news with great shock. Keshi has done so much for Nigerian football and we feel for him at this moment,” he said.


Chief Jonas Udeji, a chieftain of Ohaneze Ndigbo, pan Igbo socio-cultural group in South Africa, told NAN that Nigerians resident in South Africa were shocked on the passing on of Keshi`s wife.


“We received this news with shock and we feel the pain Keshi is going through at the moment.


“Keshi has done so much for Nigerian football which stands him as a legend. We pray God to give him and the family the strength to bear this big loss,” he said.


Mr Adetola Olubajo, Secretary, Nigeria Union in South Africa, said that the union lacked words to describe the death of Keshi`s wife.


“Indeed, this is a big loss and Nigerians in South Africa share this pain with Keshi. We should support him at this trying moment with prayers to bear this loss,” he said.
