Senator Aisha Alhassan
Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Taraba state, Aisha Alhassan has felicitated with Christians in the state on the Christmas celebration.
In a statement, she congratulated Christians in Taraba on witnessing this year’s celebration.
Aisha said the fact that the Eid-el-Maulud and Christmas were celebrated a day apart should cause adherents of the two major religions, adding that, Christians and Muslims should embrace one another and live in peace at all times.
She prayed that the teachings and significance of the season should not be lost but should remain now and always.
She also urged all well-to-do Nigerians to remember the less privileged, especially displaced persons during this festive season.
Hajia Aisha also called on mothers of the kidnapped Chibok girls to be strong and remain hopeful, while urging security operatives to do their best and ensure that the girls are recovered alive.
Aisha, who was recently returned as governor of the state by an election tribunal maintained that the development which is the people’s desire can only be achieved in an atmosphere of peace.
She called on her supporters to be patient and steer clear of violence, adding that, when she assumes office she would deliver the much desired dividends of democracy.
She expressed optimism that the Appeal court will uphold the tribunal ruling, adding that, it is only a matter of time before “the people are delivered from the shackles of bad governance”.
She added that one of her priorities on assumption of office will be to unite the people.
She wished people of the state a merry Christmas and prosperous new year.
