Gov. Aminu Masari of Katsina State on Wednesday in Katsina presented an appropriation bill of N111.4 billion before the state House of Assembly for the 2016 financial year.
Masari said it was tagged ‘’Budget of Restoration of Hope’’.
According to the governor, N72.7 billion was for capital expenditure, which represents 65 per cent of the total amount.
Masari further said that the recurrent expenditure was allocated N38.7 billion representing 35 per cent.
He explained that the recurrent revenue stood at N67.4 billion; N14.2 billion as capital receipts and N9.1 billion for local government contribution and N1.1 billion as Federal Government intervention funds.
The governor noted that education sector got the lion share of the budget at N22.7 billion, representing 20 per cent.
Masari said that road construction got seven per cent; health sector, six per cent while water supply and agriculture got five per cent each.
The governor said government would use the budget to create job opportunities to people, improve their living condition and execute projects that would assist to move the state forward.
He, therefore, urged people of the state to continue to support the administration’s policies and programmes to develop the state.
