The NWC decision was made known in a statement issued and signed by the party’s national chairman, Rev. Olusegun Peters, in Abuja.

Leadership reports that the suspension was a reaction to the petition received from the state chapter of the party against the flag bearer.

The chairman said following the huge anti-party activities allegedly committed by the governorship candidate, Hon. Koleola, the NWC of the party had to suspend him indefinitely.

“A disciplinary Committee will be set up to look into his anti-party activities during the governorship election in the state, and purported decision to go to court in collaboration with the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate, Idris Wada to challenge INEC directive to All Progressives Congress to substitute the late Abubakar Audu,” the statement reads in part.

Meanwhile, the intense political atmosphere in Kogi state is still very far from calming down as Vanguard reported yesterday that, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) may not be allowed to go ahead with the planned supplementary election in the state on Saturday, December 5, 2015.

This move according to the Nation is not unrelated to the internal tussle between the running mate of the late Abubakr Audu, James Faleke and Yahaya Bello, following whom to replace the deceased guber candiate of ther All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) recently confirmed the request made by the APC for the nomination of Bello for the supplementary election in Kogi state. A development that might not be far from the cause of the clashes that broke out between the supporters of Bello and Faleke on November 30, as speculation was rift that the former might be picked as the APC governorship candidate for the inclusive guber election.
