The last match of the Capital One Cup was played as Liverpool defeated Southampton 6 – 1 thanks to two glorious goals from Daniel Sturridge and a hat-trick from Divock Origi.
The reds were on fire against the Saints.
Saido Mane opened the scoring for the Saints but the Red’s aggressive pressing resulted in a good goal from Sturridge after Emre Can’s first time lofted pass.
Sturridge added a second after Joe Allen’s cute pass. Sturridge hit the ball one time and scored.

A third came from Alberto Moreno whose volley beat everyone including Martin Skelenburg in goal. The goal was later given to Origi who made last contact with the ball.

Origi added two more before substitute Jordan Ibe added a sixth to compound more misery on Southampton.
Just after the game, the Capital One Cup made the draw for the semi -finals of the cup. Manchester City face Everton while Liverpool face Stoke City.
