The Benue state police command has arrested a 30-year-old woman, Sandra Terngu, for allegedly impersonating Mrs. Eunice Ortom, who is the wife of the Benue state governor.
Terngu was docked before a Makurdi magistrates’ court presided over by Mr. Austin Ityonyiman on Friday November 20, 2015, and consequently pleaded not-guilty stating that she did not commit the offence.
Leadership reports that the suspect who resides along Saint Dominic Catholic Church Gboko road in Makurdi was arrested in Makurdi town at an event to sensitize indigenes of the state on HIV/AIDS; where she allegedly pretended to be the wife of the state governor, Mrs. Ortom.

The defence counsel, Mr. A. Ahile, who applied for bail for the suspect, assured that his client is a good citizen and will always be physically present in court sessions until the investigations are over.
The presiding magistrates’ Mr. Ityonyiman later granted the accused a bail in the sum of N20, 000 with a surety.
The matter was adjourned to December 22, 2015 for mention.
