Only about one in five people who have phones with Apple Pay, the year-old mobile payments service from Apple, actually use it. That’s according to a new survey from Trustev, a company that helps retailers and banks prevent online fraud.
And only about 1 in 7 people who can use Samsung Pay or Android Pay, “mobile wallets” that work on some Android phones, have tried them, according to the survey.

Other studies, however, have found that more people actually use Apple Pay. According to the the Auriemma Consulting Group, 42% of iPhone 6 and 6 Plus owners have used Apple Pay, and people who use the feature are very satisfied with it.
A Samsung spokesperson told Tech insider that when the company beta-tested Samsung Pay in the US, 88% of people who used it said they were most likely to continue using the feature. And 85% of those said they were most likely to recommend it to a colleague or friend. Samsung also said last week that people in the US who use Samsung Pay are likely to use it again.
A Google spokesperson told Tech Insider that the company has seen millions of people set up Android Pay since it became available in the US in September.
Apple declined to comment.
