Mofe & Jessica Duncan spearhead oral health campaign with Beaconhill Smile Clinic

Newlywed couple Mofe and Jessica Duncan are championing an oral health campaign in partnership with Beaconhill Smile Clinic (Nigeria’s 1st 7-day Dental Practice). On Friday September 25, 2015, they were at the Silverbird galleria, Victoria Island to educate people on the need for regular dental check-ups while the teams from Beaconhill Smile Clinic and Kleinburg Medical centre were thereto offer free dental and medical check-ups respectively.

According to Mofe Duncan, “there are various languages on this earth, but a SMILE is universal. The aim of this campaign is to create awareness on the need for regular dental check-ups in Nigeria and also educate people on the role aesthetic dentistry plays in improving self confidence.

In Nigeria, we don’t have a preventive dental culture, we wait until we have a toothache before we visit the dentist.

Beaconhill sponsored this cause as a part ofits Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), to change the face of dentistry in Nigeria. We want people to know that prevention is better and cheaper than treatment”.

The free services provided included the detection of caries, assessment of mouth odour, blood pressure checks, instructional programmes, and consultations with dentists.

Following the dental check-ups, participants were given referral notes to their respective dentists.
