From Nobody To Somebody: English Star To Hit The Record Books At Theatre Of Dreams

For a player who only in June last year, desired a decent bed place in city of Leicester, now a Premier League history-maker, England striker Jamie Vardy is living in wonderland.

The 28-year-old Leicester City star equalled Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s record of scoring in 10 successive league games in his team’s 3-0 whitewash over Newcastle yesterday, November 21, at St James’ park.

Vardy reacting after the game, admitted to pinching himself “every day” after pulling level with the former Manchester United star Van Nistelrooy.

Vardy told Sky Sports News: “I kept getting it [the message] sent to me and fair play to him for doing it. He didn’t have to do that.”

Vardy can now better the mark of Van Nistelrooy – who set the record in 2003 during his time at Manchester United – if he scores for Leicester at Old Trafford next weekend.

He said: “We’ll have to wait and see. We need to get back on the training field, work on some plans and then put them into action

“I may have equalled the record but we got the three points and the clean sheet.
