France is the newest country to team up with Nigeria in the on-going fight against the extremist group, Boko Haram.
The French government declared its readiness to engage in the war against Boko Haram as one of its plan to fight global terrorism. This is coming weeks after its capital; Paris was attacked by suspected ISIS terrorists.

The Sun reports that General Christophe Gomer, France’s director of military intelligence declared the country’s intention when he visited the chief of defence Intelligence, Air vice Marshal Riku Morgan in his office in Abuja.
Gomer said terrorism needed to be jointly attacked in order to wipe it off the face off the world as it was spreading rapidly.
The French intelligence boss said terror attacks are usually not anticipated and that countries like Nigeria needed to be at alert.
“It’s something we did not prepare for, including developing countries like Nigeria.
“We have to evolve new ways of tackling them, stamp them out of existence.”
Gomer said his visit was to get support from Nigeria in the area of sharing military intelligence so as to wipe out global terrorists.
Morgan who received the French delegate noted that the visit was timely and agreed that countries needed to co-operate in order to successfully combat terrorism.

He commended the French intelligence boss for the visit and showed his sympathy to the country over the Paris attack.
“We as a nation understand the feelings that you are going through right now because we have the same nuisance in our hands.”
Meanwhile, Ona Ekhomu, a security expert has warned that ISIS attack is likely to come to Nigeria as the attack was spreading from European countries to Africa and urged security officials to be at alert.
