The President of the Senate, Sen. Bukola Saraki, will announce the chairmen, vice chairmen and members of the standing committee of the Senate on Wednesday, October 28.
Currently, there are 108 senators from both political parties, 59 elected on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) and 49 from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Borno Central Senatorial District of Borno State is still expected to name the last senator.

There are currently 57 standing committees in the Nigerian Senate, out of which three had already been constituted:
– Rules and Business chaired by Senator Babajide Omoworare (APC, Osun East),
– Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions under the chairmanship of Senator Sam Anyanwu (PDP, Imo East)
– Public Accounts headed by Senator Andy Uba (PDP, Anambra South).
One of the lawmakers, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed that the announcement would be made on the floor of the Senate this Wednesday.
